Os Clavelitos is a six-piece samba band that performs covers of Brazilian tunes sung in Portuguese (samba, baiao, samba reggae, bossa nova) as well as their own original music that combines traditional Brazilian rhythms (samba, baiao, bossa, samba reggae, and frevo) with English lyrics. They are a New York City based band, with band members from Brazil, Japan, and the U.S. They often incorporate batucada (percussion ensemble) into their shows and present an upbeat, high-energy performance that gets people up and dancing! Their debut album, “Arriving”, hit #1 on the RMR World Music Chart the summer of 2016, and is #7 on the RMR Top 200 World Albums of 2016.
